Here we are at the start of another school year!  I am very excited to be back and look forward to a great 6th grade year!

As the students get ready to come back, here are a few things you may want to know. 

1.  The studetns need 5 AR points for the 1st 9 weeks.  If they have read a book over the summer, but did not have a chance to come up to the school for the bonus, they have the until Friday, September 1st to take the AR test on their book.  After that, they can no longer receive the bonus points.  

2.  The students will need a notebook for reading class.  It is easier if the notebook they have is for this class and this class only.  I have found that the composition notebooks do work better, because the pages tend to stay in and not fall out.  They may also wish to have their own set of colored pencils.  I do have some for the students to use, but some of them like to have their own.
